Algeria's national football team is poised to give its all in the upcoming 2026 World Cup, with national coach Vladimir Petkovic vowing maximum effort to avoid an early exit and aiming for the Round of 16.

Speaking at a press conference, Petkovic emphasized the team's commitment to making Algerian fans proud on the global stage. "We will try to be better than all the competitors we will face in the World Cup. And of course, we have our own special goals," he stated.
The coach expressed his hope that the players will fully utilize the current preparation period to achieve the required tactical, technical, and physical levels. "We want to reach our first match in the best possible readiness, and after that, we will play match by match and see what happens," Petkovic added.
Concluding his remarks on the team's objectives in the tournament, Petkovic reiterated, "We will give everything to avoid returning home after three matches, and our goal is to reach the Round of 16."
