Algeria Launches “Sanaa”: A 45-Day Intensive Vocational Program for Youth Employment

Algeria's Ministry of Vocational Training and Education has launched an innovative summer program named "Sanaa," aimed at equipping young Algerians with practical skills for rapid employment. Minister Nacima Arhab unveiled the initiative, which offers a 45-day intensive training course in six high-demand manual trades: building painting, architectural electricity, plastering and BA13 partitions, plumbing, welding, and refrigeration.

The "Sanaa" program, operating under the slogan "What are you waiting for to learn a trade?", is open to all young people aged 15 to 27, including students, dropouts, and university students. The training is delivered by qualified instructors and includes practical field experience in collaboration with economic operators. This approach ensures that the skills acquired align with the real needs of the national labor market, fostering quick integration and economic autonomy.

Minister Arhab emphasized the program's pioneering nature, highlighting its role in restoring dignity to manual labor, which has historically been undervalued by young people. The initiative seeks to cultivate a durable culture of work and production within Algerian society. Successful completion of the program leads to an officially recognized certificate, paving the way for independent employment or the creation of micro-enterprises.

Registration for the "Sanaa" program is accessible via a dedicated digital platform across all wilayas and will be open from May 31st to June 4th, 2026. Candidate orientation will take place from June 4th to June 15th, with the training sessions commencing on June 15th and concluding on July 30th, 2026. The ministry assures that the sector is fully prepared to accommodate all participants.
