Algeria's national football team coach, Vladimir Petkovic, has unveiled the highly anticipated 26-player squad, plus one additional player, selected for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026. The announcement was made during a press conference held at the "Mohamed Sellah" conference hall at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Baraki.

Placed in Group J for the global tournament, the Algerian squad will face off against reigning champions Argentina, Jordan, and Austria on June 17, June 23, and June 28, respectively. The team, referred to as 'Les Verts,' commenced their preparation camp at the National Technical Center (CTN) in Sidi Moussa last Monday. They are set to fine-tune their strategy through two friendly matches. The first will be against the Netherlands in Rotterdam on June 3, followed by a match against Bolivia in Kansas City, USA, on June 10.
