Algeria's Ministry of Interior is meticulously overseeing the logistical preparations for the upcoming legislative elections scheduled for July 2nd. Central inspection commissions have been dispatched to various wilayas across the country to ensure optimal readiness.

These inspections, guided by the directives of the Minister of the Interior, Saïd Sayoud, are part of a continuous on-the-ground monitoring program. Coordination meetings are being held with local authorities and officials, alongside representatives from the Independent National Electoral Authority (ANIE), to assess the progress of preparations and evaluate the logistical requirements for a smooth electoral process.

The field visits also involve inspecting facilities designated for the electoral operation, including storage sites for electoral materials and the offices of ANIE coordinators at both commune and wilaya levels. The objective is to verify their availability and ensure all necessary material and logistical conditions are met.

Furthermore, these visits aim to inspect the condition of premises and structures earmarked for the elections, monitor the progress of renovation and equipping operations, and ensure any identified shortcomings are addressed promptly to guarantee the best organizational conditions for the success of this national event.

In parallel, political parties have been actively engaging with their members and supporters through rallies and meetings nationwide over the weekend, seeking to garner support for their respective platforms. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune recently reaffirmed his commitment to political dialogue, emphasizing its constructive nature and his dedication to implementing all agreements reached with political parties.

The President has consistently fostered an environment of national cohesion through broad consultations with diverse political forces and national figures. These engagements have underscored a strong adherence to the ongoing reform process, rooted in dialogue and consultation. Maintaining open communication with the public and the political class has been a key commitment of the President, who has honored this through regular meetings with national press, political leaders, and civil society representatives.

President Tebboune has consistently encouraged political parties to embrace new approaches, emphasizing national unity and the principles of the Declaration of November 1st as a common denominator. In response, political forces have demonstrated a commitment to national unity, engaging trade unions, civil society organizations, and the diaspora.

Many political parties and civil society components have voiced their steadfast support for the President's political, economic, and social reforms, pledging to consolidate cohesion and collective mobilization to safeguard national security, stability, and unity. They have also welcomed the President's dedication to strengthening the internal front and pursuing dialogue and consultation with national forces, reinforcing the principles of participatory democracy.

International observers note that under President Tebboune's leadership, Algeria has enhanced public freedoms, democratic practices, and human rights, while increasing the role of civil society in governance. This trajectory is expected to be further bolstered by proposed amendments to laws concerning associations, political parties, and communal and wilaya codes, aligning them with the November 2020 Constitution.

The President's extensive consultations have garnered significant support for his program from national figures and political organizations, who are keen to contribute to reinforcing the internal front and improving the country's socio-economic landscape. His engagements with national media representatives aim to address the profession's concerns and enhance journalistic performance as a vital partner in national development.

Deep economic reforms initiated by President Tebboune, aimed at establishing an open and diversified economic model underpinned by a reassuring legislative and legal framework, have been widely lauded. The new investment law, promulgated in July 2022, establishes an integrated legal system that ensures freedom and equality for all investors, protects their investments, and guarantees the repatriation of capital and profits. This law introduces legal stability, with a minimum 10-year guarantee against changes, and enhances transparency and digitalization of investment procedures through a unified national one-stop shop for major projects and foreign investments.

The fundamental decision to abolish the 51/49 rule, except for strategic sectors, is seen as a significant step towards creating a more open and attractive environment for foreign investors. This move signals Algeria's commitment to a new economic model focused on boosting national production and reducing reliance on hydrocarbons. The establishment of the Superior Council for Import Regulation further underscores the nation's resolve to eliminate detrimental practices impacting the economy.
