Algeria has taken a significant step to safeguard its younger generation in the digital realm with the establishment of a dedicated Cyber Vigilance Unit. This new entity, announced by Dalila Alliane, Secretary-General of the National Authority for the Protection and Promotion of Childhood, will meticulously monitor cyberspace to identify and combat all forms of online child exploitation.

Speaking on the occasion of World Children's Day, Alliane highlighted the specialized unit's collaborative approach. It will operate in close coordination with the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Interior, Local Assemblies and Urban Planning. This inter-ministerial cooperation is crucial for effectively addressing the risks that threaten children's safety in the digital environment and for combating transnational cybercrime.
The creation of this unit underscores Algeria's commitment to leveraging technology for child protection and ensuring a safer online experience for its youth.
