Minister Attaf held productive talks with Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Nafti. The discussions primarily focused on the preparatory work for the upcoming Algerian-Tunisian Follow-up Committee meeting. This committee is tasked with evaluating the progress made in implementing the conclusions of the 23rd session of the Algerian-Tunisian Joint High Commission, with the overarching goal of elevating bilateral partnership to meet the ambitious objectives set by the leaders of both nations, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and President Kais Saïed.
In a separate meeting, Minister Attaf extended congratulations to Ms. Corinne Amori Brunet, the recently appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Benin. The two ministers explored avenues to strengthen the fraternal and cooperative ties between Algeria and Benin, particularly in light of the commencement of resident diplomatic representation exchanges. They also addressed several issues of mutual concern, including the evolving situation in the Sahel-Saharan region.
Further expanding Algeria’s diplomatic outreach, Minister Attaf met with his counterparts from Egypt and Nigeria. With Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdel Aati, discussions centered on bolstering joint efforts to consolidate fraternity and partnership, with a particular emphasis on economic cooperation. The ministers also reviewed the current situation in the Arab region and key dossiers on the African Union’s agenda, ahead of continental deadlines scheduled to take place in Egypt later this month.
During his engagement with Ms. Bianca Odumiego Ojoko, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister Attaf offered congratulations on her new appointment. Their dialogue focused on enhancing the exceptional relationship between Algeria and Nigeria, exploring joint contributions to promoting peace and development in the Sahel region through structural, integrative projects.
Concluding his series of high-level meetings, Minister Attaf also held bilateral discussions with Mr. Antonio Téte, Minister of External Relations of Angola. This meeting served as an opportunity to review the ongoing efforts by both sides to sustain the positive momentum in Algerian-Angolan relations. They discussed significant decisions recently made by the leaders of both countries in Algiers, concerning both the strengthening of institutional and legal frameworks and the consolidation and expansion of sectoral cooperation.
