The breakthrough stemmed from precise intelligence received by the regional gendarmerie unit, indicating an individual's involvement in drug promotion. Activating surveillance and intelligence gathering, authorities were able to identify the suspect and anticipate their movements.
Subsequently, a strategic security cordon was established, leading to the interception of a tourist vehicle carrying three individuals. A meticulous search of the vehicle uncovered five slabs of processed cannabis, weighing 500 grams in total, intended for distribution in nearby areas. The vehicle was confiscated, and the suspects were apprehended and transferred to the gendarmerie headquarters for further investigation.
Leveraging information gleaned during initial interrogations, gendarmerie services expanded their investigation, leading to the arrest of six additional network members implicated in the illicit trade. This further phase of the operation resulted in the recovery of an additional 13.2 kilograms of processed cannabis, carefully concealed within dense forest thickets. Authorities confirm that investigations are ongoing to apprehend one remaining fugitive from the network.
