The high-level discussions, held at the Presidency, underscored Algeria's commitment to advancing its strategic economic agenda.

A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to the ambitious integrated phosphate project, which includes a complex for producing phosphate fertilizers, ammonia, and urea. This cornerstone initiative is projected to commence production during the first quarter of 2027. This timeline aligns strategically with the completion of the Annaba Port expansion project, ensuring its readiness to facilitate the export of the first shipments of phosphate products within the same period.
Further demonstrating Algeria's push for comprehensive development, the session also addressed the financing of the extensive Algeria-Tamanrasset railway line. A definitive decision was reached to initiate construction on this vital infrastructure link by September of this year, at the latest. The project will be tackled simultaneously across three major workshops: the first connecting Ouargla to Ain Salah, the second spanning Ain Salah to Tamanrasset, and the third linking Tamanrasset back to Ain Salah.
