The conference, organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO) under the theme "A Decisive Moment: Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Decent Work," will delve into strategic issues concerning the future of the global labor market. Discussions will include reports from the ILO's Governing Body Chairperson and Director-General, alongside matters related to the program, budget, and the application of international conventions and recommendations.

Key agenda items also feature "priority issues" such as promoting decent work within the digital platform economy, enhancing social dialogue, intensifying efforts to combat child labor, and modernizing labor conventions to align with current economic and social transformations. The aim is to bolster the effectiveness of the international labor standards system.

Notably, the plight of workers in the occupied Arab territories is expected to receive special attention, given the severe challenges and difficult circumstances faced by Palestinian workers, including oppression and mistreatment by the occupying entity, and their impact on fundamental rights and working conditions.

Minister Saïghi is scheduled to deliver a speech emphasizing Algeria's strides in leveraging artificial intelligence and digital transformation to advance decent work and social justice. He will also advocate for fair international governance of these technologies.

Furthermore, the Algerian minister is expected to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from participating countries to explore avenues for strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise in areas of mutual interest.

The ILC session gathers delegations representing governments, worker organizations, and employers from 187 ILO member states, underscoring the event's pivotal role in shaping global labor trends.
