Lieutenant General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, concluded a significant official visit to the Sultanate of Oman this week, engaging in high-level discussions aimed at bolstering military cooperation and strengthening bilateral ties between Algeria and Oman.

During his third day in Oman, Lt. Gen. Chanegriha was received by Lieutenant General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu'amani, Minister of the Royal Office, accompanied by Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis bin Abdullah Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces. Lt. Gen. Chanegriha expressed profound gratitude for the warm reception and generous hospitality, highlighting the robust military cooperation between the two nations' armies. He emphasized that this collaboration enjoys substantial momentum, driven by the continuous and unwavering patronage of both countries' leaders and their shared commitment to elevating these ties to their desired potential.
Following these strategic meetings, Lt. Gen. Chanegriha and his accompanying delegation visited the Maritime Security Center at Al Murtafa'a Military Camp in Muscat Governorate. There, he was again received by Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis bin Abdullah Al Raisi, alongside Brigadier Adel bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Head of the Maritime Security Center. The Algerian delegation received comprehensive briefings on the center's critical missions and strategic roles in managing and commanding maritime security operations within Omani waters. Discussions also covered the center's operational mechanisms in confronting various maritime security threats, including illegal migration, transnational organized crime, illicit trafficking, maritime piracy, and terrorism. The visit concluded with an exchange of symbolic gifts.
The Algerian Chief of Staff also toured the Military and Security Medical City, where he was welcomed by Engineer Odai bin Hilal bin Nasser Al Maawali, Head of the medical facility. This visit allowed Lt. Gen. Chanegriha to observe firsthand the high level of professionalism and advanced capabilities characterizing the city's diverse departments. The medical city provides comprehensive healthcare services utilizing state-of-the-art technologies and equipment for military and security personnel and their families, alongside robust training and development programs for medical staff. A ceremonial exchange of gifts marked the end of this insightful visit.
