Algerian National Football Team Heads to Kansas City for World Cup Preparations

The Algerian national football team is set to depart on Sunday, June 7th, for Kansas City, United States, to continue its preparations for the 2026 World Cup finals. The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) confirmed the move.

Under the leadership of Riyad Mahrez, the Desert Foxes will engage in their final preparatory friendly match against Bolivia in Kansas City on June 10th. This match precedes their entry into the 2026 World Cup finals, scheduled from June 11th to July 19th across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

This marks Algeria's fifth appearance in the World Cup. The team has been drawn into Group J alongside Argentina, the reigning champions, Austria, and Jordan. The team's journey to the United States represents a crucial phase in their preparation for this global tournament, as Algeria aims for a significant return to the World Cup stage, aspiring to meet the high expectations of its supporters.

In line with this, the FAF has announced a special accreditation system for media representatives wishing to cover the team's departure from the VIP lounge at Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers. The national squad's delegation is scheduled to depart at 5:00 PM (17:00).

The FAF, in a statement released by its Media and Communication department, specified that accreditation requests must be submitted no later than Sunday at 11:00 AM.
