Algerian Army Engages in Crucial Adaptation to Meet Contemporary Challenges

General Saïd Chengriha, the Minister Delegate for National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, has emphasized the critical importance of the Algerian People's National Army's ongoing endeavor to adapt its forces and units to the prevailing regional and international challenges. He called upon all members of the army to actively contribute to this vital developmental process, aiming to safeguard national independence and sovereignty and to robustly counter any malicious attempts to destabilize the nation or compromise the security and unity of its people.

This statement was made during the official installation ceremony of the new Director of the Higher War College. General Chengriha presided over the ceremony, which included inspecting the assembled officers and staff before formally appointing Major General Mohamed Ahmed Sayeh as the new director, succeeding Major General Hamid Fekan. The appointment was made in accordance with a presidential decree.

Addressing the command, officers, and staff of the Higher War College, General Chengriha highlighted the necessity of continuously refining educational programs to align with the rapid advancements in today's global landscape. He stressed the importance of transforming the college into a genuine center for strategic proposals, by leveraging the valuable experience of its faculty and students. Their practical expertise within combat units and various branches of the People's National Army positions them to offer insightful recommendations, drawing lessons from contemporary conflicts and proposing measures to enhance the operational readiness of Algerian forces in line with modern warfare doctrines.

The General reiterated that the People's National Army, engaged in a crucial mission to adapt its capabilities, anticipates a proactive contribution from all its personnel towards this promising evolutionary path. He concluded by signing the college's Golden Book, marking the conclusion of the installation ceremony.
