Air Algérie, the national carrier, has officially launched a new flight route connecting Algiers to Libreville, Gabon, with a stopover in Douala, Cameroon. The inaugural flight departed from Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers, marking a significant step in Air Algérie's strategy to expand its presence across the African continent.

The launch ceremony was presided over by Abdelghani Dridi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, and was attended by the Gabonese Ambassador to Algiers, Marie Rosine Mimi Itsana, alongside senior officials from Air Algérie and other national bodies. This new route is poised to bolster economic, commercial, and cultural exchanges between Algeria and other African nations.
Abd Manaf Hadefi, Commercial Division Chief at Air Algérie, emphasized that the new Algiers-Libreville line is part of a broader initiative to strengthen air connectivity within Africa. He highlighted that the ongoing fleet modernization and expansion program within Air Algérie will play a crucial role in facilitating this continental cooperation.
Air Algérie stated that this expansion aligns with the national strategy for developing air transport and reinforces Algeria's commitment to increasing its influence and connectivity within Africa. The airline aims to facilitate travel, support economic investments, and foster stronger ties with brotherly African nations.
