Spanish Authorities Seize Over 2.5 Tonnes of Hashish in Huelva Operation

Spanish security authorities have foiled an international drug trafficking operation, seizing more than 2.5 tonnes of hashish, several firearms and stolen vehicles in the province of Huelva.
The operation was carried out by Customs Surveillance officers from Spain’s Tax Agency, in coordination with the National Police and the Civil Guard. It followed intelligence information about a criminal network preparing to unload a large drug shipment through the Guadiana River, using high-speed boats commonly linked to smuggling activities.
According to Spanish authorities, the network used a hidden dock, described by investigators as a “narco-dock,” to move the drugs while trying to conceal its activity among fishing boats. The shipment was then transported toward a secret storage site located on an isolated property between San Silvestre de Guzmán and Villablanca.
The investigation began after security services received information about an imminent smuggling operation. A stolen vehicle, detected in Alcalá de Guadaíra in Seville, was suspected of being used to transport large quantities of narcotics. Its surveillance led investigators to the property used as a logistical storage point.
During the early hours of June 24, officers documented the transfer of dozens of hashish bales from a speedboat to the vehicle. Once the activity inside the warehouse stopped, security units moved in.
The raid resulted in the seizure of three stolen vehicles, two long guns, three handguns and 64 bales of hashish weighing around 2,560 kilograms. Two people who were inside the property managed to flee before they could be arrested.
Investigations are still underway under the supervision of the Spanish judicial authorities. The suspects face potential charges related to international drug trafficking, illegal possession of firearms, vehicle theft and membership in an organized criminal network.
