Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb, speaking on behalf of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, expressed deep appreciation to the executives and employees of the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies, led by the minister, as well as to all managers, engineers and workers of the Sonelgaz Group.

The recognition followed their rapid response to a technical failure that caused a power outage across several eastern provinces during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday.

In a statement, the Prime Minister praised the professionalism, broad mobilisation and strong sense of responsibility shown by the teams involved. He highlighted the speed of their reaction, the effectiveness of the intervention and the close coordination that marked the repair operations.

According to Ghrieb, the full involvement of the various technical teams made it possible to bring the situation under control, repair the fault and gradually restore electricity supplies within a short period. These efforts limited the effects of the incident and allowed the national power network to return quickly to normal operation.

The Prime Minister said the readiness, expertise and professionalism demonstrated by Algerian specialists reflected the advanced level reached by the country’s electricity production, transmission and distribution system.

He added that the response also showed the commitment of executives and employees to carrying out their duties with dedication and loyalty, in the public interest and in order to ensure the continuity of essential services.

On behalf of President Tebboune, Ghrieb renewed the country’s highest authorities’ appreciation for the continued efforts of energy sector workers and Sonelgaz staff.

He stressed their role in protecting the security and stability of Algeria’s electricity system and ensuring uninterrupted power supplies to citizens, businesses and vital public facilities under all circumstances.

Their work remains essential to maintaining energy reliability, supporting economic activity and protecting services during emergencies and periods of pressure.
