Bouira Governor Oversees Wildfire Response and Orders Full Mobilization

Governor of Bouira Houria Aggoun continued her field monitoring of the wildfires affecting several areas of the province, inspecting the situation at different fire sites and supervising the ongoing emergency response.

During her visits, the governor issued strict instructions to mobilize all available human, material and logistical resources to contain the fires, protect residents and preserve public and private property.

Aggoun emphasized that the safety of citizens remained the authorities’ highest priority. She ordered emergency teams to maintain intensive firefighting operations and carry out precautionary evacuations whenever necessary, particularly in communities located near active fire zones.

The operations were conducted through close coordination between Civil Protection units, the People’s National Army, forestry services, local authorities and other institutions and partners involved in the response.

Firefighters and supporting teams continued working to prevent the flames from spreading to residential areas, agricultural land and the province’s forest heritage. The authorities also maintained surveillance around areas where fires had been brought under control to prevent them from reigniting.

The field response in Bouira formed part of a broader national mobilization ordered by the Algerian authorities amid a wave of forest, brush and agricultural fires affecting several provinces. The Ministry of the Interior said firefighting efforts were being conducted under the continuous supervision of provincial governors and through strengthened coordination among all participating agencies.

Algerian authorities recently reported bringing most of the fires recorded across the country under control, while operations continued against the remaining active outbreaks. Civil Protection teams have been supported by army units, forestry personnel, local authorities and volunteers.

Governor Aggoun reaffirmed that the mobilization would continue until the fires were fully controlled and all threats to residents had been eliminated.

The coordinated intervention reflects Algeria’s commitment to protecting citizens, supporting affected communities and safeguarding the country’s forests and agricultural resources.
