Algerian Police Launch Online Survey on Citizens’ Sense of Security
Algeria’s General Directorate of National Security has launched an online survey designed to measure citizens’ sense of security and collect their views on the quality of police services.
The questionnaire is available through a newly created platform on the official website of the General Directorate of National Security.
According to a statement issued by the police authority, the initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to modernize policing services and strengthen communication with the public. It is being conducted under the slogan: “Because the citizen is a partner in the security equation.”
The survey gives citizens an opportunity to express their opinions objectively and confidentially regarding how safe they feel in their communities.
The information collected is expected to help security authorities improve operational performance, enhance the quality of services provided to the public, and better direct policing efforts based on citizens’ concerns and experiences.
The initiative also reflects a participatory approach that places citizens at the centre of efforts to improve public services. By gathering direct public feedback, the police aim to identify areas requiring additional attention and adapt their strategies to local security needs.
The General Directorate of National Security stressed that public participation can contribute to strengthening trust between citizens and law-enforcement institutions while supporting more effective and responsive policing.
