Ministerial Delegation Attends Funeral of Boumerdès Road Accident Victims in Sétif

A ministerial delegation arrived in Sétif on Saturday morning to take part in the funeral ceremonies of the victims of the tragic road accident that occurred in Boumerdès.

According to a statement from Algeria’s Ministry of the Interior, the visit was carried out under the instructions of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Saïd Sayoud, arrived at Sétif’s 8 May 1945 Airport, accompanied by the Minister of Health, Mohamed Seddik Aït Messaoudane. Their presence aimed to attend the burial of several victims and to show national solidarity in the face of this devastating tragedy.

The delegation also expressed their condolences to the bereaved families, standing alongside them during this painful moment and offering the support of the state.

Earlier that day, the bodies of the victims of the overturned passenger bus were transferred from the Mother and Child Hospital “El Baz” in Sétif to their families. Relatives were given the opportunity to pay their final respects before the victims were laid to rest at El Eulma cemetery.

The accident, which occurred on Friday morning, claimed the lives of 27 people and left 42 others injured, leaving the nation in deep sorrow and highlighting once again the severity of road accidents.
