Parliament Hosts Children from Diaspora and Adrar in Educational Visit

The Speaker of Algeria’s National People’s Assembly, Khalida Boufdash, received on Monday a delegation of children from the Algerian diaspora and from Adrar Province, currently attending holiday and leisure centers in Ain Taya and Staoueli, according to a statement from Parliament.

During the meeting, held at the headquarters of the National People’s Assembly, the children were introduced to the role of state institutions and their commitment to supporting younger generations. The Speaker emphasized the importance of encouraging youth participation in building Algeria’s future and fostering a sense of belonging and civic responsibility.

Following the reception, the delegation—comprising 120 children from the diaspora and Adrar—toured various facilities within Parliament. They received detailed explanations about its constitutional, legislative, and oversight functions, as well as its organizational structure. This visit allowed them to gain firsthand insight into how the legislative institution operates and its role in promoting democratic practices and serving citizens.

The visit was attended by the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and the National Community Abroad, Ali Djelouli, along with Members of Parliament representing the diaspora: Mehdi Houhou, Fares Rahmani, Badar Djeloul, and Belila Ismail.

This initiative reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between national institutions and Algerian youth, both within the country and abroad, while promoting civic awareness and engagement.
