Algeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ammar Benjamaa, stated that the ongoing occupation of Palestinian territories has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
In his speech during the emergency session of the UN Security Council, Benjamaa emphasized that addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza without tackling its root causes will not lead to lasting peace.
He stressed that the UN Security Council bears responsibility and must ensure the full implementation of its resolutions.
Benjamaa added, “The occupying power continues to demolish Palestinian homes, having conducted more than 470 demolitions since the beginning of the year as part of the policy of Judaizing Jerusalem, in addition to violating the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
