Switzerland Hosts Algerian Police to Combat Transnational Crime

Algeria's Director General of National Security, Ali Badaoui, led a delegation of senior national security officials on a working visit to Switzerland. In Bern, Mr. Badaoui met with Eva Wildi Curtis, Director of the Swiss Federal Office of Police, as part of ongoing Algerian-Swiss police cooperation efforts.

The discussions between Algerian and Swiss federal police officials focused on establishing coordination and cooperation mechanisms between the two countries' police forces. Key areas of collaboration included training, combating various forms of transnational organized crime, economic and financial crimes, cybersecurity, crimes related to irregular migration and human trafficking, and drug trafficking. This cooperation aims to address the increasing and complex nature of transnational criminal threats.

This meeting served to implement provisions of a bilateral police cooperation agreement signed between Algeria and Switzerland in June 2025 in Algiers. Both parties used the opportunity to review the current state and future prospects of bilateral police cooperation, exchanging views on matters of shared interest to enhance the security of both nations.
