Local Authorities Enhance Readiness for Seasonal Weather Shifts

Algerian wilayas are implementing a range of proactive preventive measures locally in anticipation of meteorological fluctuations expected at the end of summer and beginning of autumn. These actions are undertaken in accordance with instructions from Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Said Sayoud, which aim to strengthen proactive measures and elevate preparedness levels, according to a statement from the ministry today.

As part of these efforts, local authorities are conducting coordination meetings with various concerned services and bodies. These meetings are designed to assess readiness levels, evaluate the status of sensitive areas, and establish intervention plans in preparation for any potential weather disruptions.

Additionally, operations for cleaning and maintaining rainwater drainage channels, sewers, sanitation networks, valleys, and waterways are continuing. Deficiencies are being addressed and various obstacles removed. Human and material capabilities are being mobilized, and coordination among different services is being enhanced to ensure swift and effective intervention should any emergency arise, ultimately contributing to the protection of citizens and their property and mitigating the effects of potential weather changes.
