Sukhoi Su-30 Deployment Supports Algeria’s Southern Interests
Algeria recently deployed four Sukhoi Su-30 fighter jets and a refueling aircraft to Niamey, Niger, following a request from the Nigerien government after a recent attempted rebellion. This project, stretching over 4,000 kilometers with a targeted capacity of approximately 30 billion cubic meters annually, represents a new African energy corridor crucial for Algeria's economic security. With Sonatrach officially launching construction of the Algerian section in Adrar on June 4th, Niger's stability is seen as integral to the project's overall security, making its safeguarding a critical component of Algeria's national interest.
