Cabinet Reshuffle Brings New Leadership to Algerian Ministries

Among the newly appointed officials, Farid Kortel was named Minister of Industry, and Fawzia Naama was designated Minister Delegate for Local Communities, attached to the Minister of Interior, Local Communities, and Transport. These appointments reflect ongoing government adjustments aimed at enhancing public service.

Further changes include Mohamed Bouslimani taking office as Minister of Communication and Mohamed Hattab as Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security. Mohamed Bouslimani, who previously served as Minister of Communication, expressed his gratitude to President Tebboune for the renewed trust and reiterated his commitment to working with media professionals to foster progress and prosperity for national media. He highlighted the media sector's sensitive and strategic role and pledged support for journalists' fieldwork and strengthening institutional communication.

The appointment of Farid Kortel as Minister of Industry brings a seasoned academic and economic expert to the position. Kortel previously served as an advisor to the President on economic affairs and held the position of director at Blida 2 University. His background includes extensive experience as an Inspector General at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and as a professor of economic sciences, with published research in various economic and administrative fields. He is also recognized as an economic analyst, particularly on matters concerning energy, investment, and natural gas, underlining his deep understanding of critical national economic sectors.
