Agriculture Minister Pledges Full Indemnification for Jijel Farmers

Algeria's Minister of Agriculture, Sid Ali Khaldi, affirmed in Jijel that all farmers impacted by the recent wildfires in the wilaya will be fully indemnified for their losses. This comprehensive measure underscores the government's commitment to supporting those affected and facilitating the rapid restoration of agricultural activities in the region.

The minister's assurance encompasses all types of agricultural damages, including losses to livestock, olive groves, fruit trees, beehives, and poultry. This decision aligns with directives from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and instructions from Prime Minister Seifi Ghrib, demonstrating the state's solidarity and unwavering support for its citizens. During his visit to the communities of Ouled Yahia Khadrouch and Bouraoui Belhadef in Jijel, Minister Khaldi met with farmers to address their concerns firsthand.

The compensation process is set to commence following the finalization of inventory operations. Minister Khaldi urged officials to expedite the completion of these assessments within established timelines to ensure prompt indemnity payments and the gradual resumption of agricultural life and activity in the affected areas. He further instructed sector officials in Jijel to maintain their commitment to supporting farmers until their agricultural operations are fully re-established to their pre-fire state.
