Sonelgaz Group announced a new record peak in electricity demand was reached today, Wednesday.
According to a statement from the group, due to the ongoing intense heatwave affecting many regions across the country, Sonelgaz – Electricity Transmission and System Operator has recorded new peak demand levels for the third time.
The statement revealed that at precisely 14:26 today, a new record peak of 19,019 megawatts was reached.
Additionally, the group noted that while meeting the exceptionally high local demand for electricity, Sonelgaz continues its electricity export operations to Tunisia.
