Today, Tuesday, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, begins a working visit to Niamey, the capital of the Republic of Niger, at the invitation of Nigerien Petroleum Minister, Maman Mustapha Barkai Bako.
According to a ministry statement, Minister Arkab will be accompanied by the CEO of Sonatrach and officials from the ministry and Sonatrach.
Arkab is expected to hold meetings with officials in the Republic of Niger, including the Nigerien Petroleum Minister, to discuss ways to enhance and develop bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of energy and mining. A key focus will be on resuming Sonatrach’s activities in Niger as part of its strategy to expand its operations in the international energy market, especially in Africa.
