Housing Ministry Delivers 289 New Schools Nationwide

Algeria's Ministry of Housing, Urban Planning, and the City has announced the delivery of 289 new educational institutions across various regions of the country. These facilities are intended to be ready for the 2026-2027 academic year, significantly enhancing the national educational infrastructure. The newly delivered structures include 151 primary schools, 90 middle schools, and 48 high schools, all part of projects completed in anticipation of the upcoming school season.

This extensive initiative is part of ongoing preparations to ensure that educational institutions are fully prepared and capable of accommodating students under suitable conditions. Prior to this delivery, comprehensive preparations for the new school year had been finalized across different wilayas, involving not only the inauguration and reception of new facilities but also the refurbishment, maintenance, and renovation of existing schools.

Further efforts included improving the cleanliness and readiness of educational institution surroundings, alongside continuous monitoring of expansion and construction projects. These measures collectively aim to guarantee the structural readiness required to welcome students at the commencement of the new academic year. These preparations follow a meeting led by the Minister of Interior, Local Communities, and National Planning, where the necessity of providing all suitable conditions for a successful school year was emphasized to governors.
