Tissemsilt’s GPI to Produce Auto Plastic Components Locally

Algeria's Minister of Industry, Farid Kortel, recently held a meeting with representatives of Algerian companies involved in vehicle manufacturing. The discussions at the Ministry of Industry headquarters focused on building an integrated national vehicle industry. This strategic objective aims to increase the local integration rate, enhance subcontracting, and expand the domestic production base for components and spare parts.
During the meeting, Minister Kortel directed an acceleration of coordination with General Plastic Injection (GPI), a company located in Tissemsilt Governorate and affiliated with the ACS Group. GPI is tasked with manufacturing specific plastic components for each vehicle assembly plant. This initiative requires manufacturers to provide the necessary molds, enabling GPI to cover all their plastic component requirements locally.
The proposal received a positive response from the operators present, who committed to supplying the essential molds. This commitment will allow GPI to commence the production of plastic components for their respective factories in the near future. The Ministry of Industry affirmed its full support for this process, aligning with the state's broader strategy to bolster national production and localize components, thereby establishing a fully integrated national vehicle industry.
