Governance Reshuffle Sees New Appointments in Algeria

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has enacted a series of new appointments within Algeria's national administration, reinforcing key leadership positions across various wilayas. These appointments, which include walis, delegate walis, and general secretaries, underscore the President's active engagement in optimizing the country's governance structure.

The recent changes are a continuation of a partial administrative reshuffle initiated last Wednesday, conducted in accordance with the provisions of Article 92 of the Constitution. A statement from the Ministry of Interior, Local Collectivities, and Transport detailed the scope of these modifications, confirming a comprehensive update to administrative personnel nationwide.

The reshuffle saw the appointment of 12 walis, 2 delegate walis, and 20 general secretaries for wilayas. Concurrently, the duties of 3 delegate walis and 12 general secretaries were terminated, with 10 general secretaries retiring from service. These actions ensure a dynamic and responsive administrative framework, tailored to national priorities.
