Rabat – The National Action Group for Palestine in Morocco has reiterated its condemnation of the continued normalization of relations between the Moroccan regime and Israel, as well as its shameful silence on the crimes committed by Israel in occupied Palestine, particularly in Gaza. The group confirmed that popular protests will persist until normalization is officially and completely abolished.
In a statement marking the 55th anniversary of the arson attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Moroccan Action Group, which includes dozens of anti-normalization organizations, expressed its unwavering support for the Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. The group renewed its rejection of all forms of normalization with the occupying entity.
The group called on all citizens to participate massively in the widespread popular activities that have been ongoing since October 7, “until the Palestinian people achieve victory over the occupying enemy, and Moroccans succeed in their fight against normalization, leading to its official and complete eradication, in defense of the nation and its future.”
In a related context, the group condemned the “extremely disgraceful” stance of the Moroccan Foreign Ministry and the entire regime regarding the continuation of normalization and the operation of the Israeli liaison office. It denounced the hosting of a “terrorist Zionist official” who had previously referred to Moroccans as “animals” at the start of the Al-Aqsa Flood battle, simply because they showed solidarity with the Palestinian people.
The Moroccan group also denounced the regime’s “shameful” silence in failing to condemn the crimes committed by the Israeli enemy against displaced people in Gaza, most recently the massacre at Salah al-Din School, as well as the attacks on mosques and hospitals. The group asserted that Moroccan diplomacy is in a “deeply disgraceful” state, having become “hostage” to the Israelis.
Since October 7, the Moroccan public has been engaged in a widespread uprising against the normalization of relations with the occupying Israeli entity, demanding the annulment of all “shameful agreements” signed at the end of 2020.: Anti-normalization protests in Morocco
