The Algerian women's national football team achieved a commanding 8-0 victory over the Central African Republic on Friday evening in Algiers. The match, held at the 5-July Olympic Stadium, marked the first leg of the second round in the qualifiers for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. The Algerian side established a significant lead with goals from Ndoumba (own goal), Marine Dafeur, Lina Boussaha, Sofia Bekhaled, Nouhed Naili, Ines Belloumou, Lynda Bendris, and Nesrine Bahlouli, securing a 4-0 advantage by halftime.

The second encounter against the Central African Republic is also scheduled to take place at the 5-July Stadium next Tuesday. This victory follows closely on the heels of the team's historic qualification for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil, a first-time achievement secured through their third-place finish at the CAN-2026, marking a new benchmark in the advancement of Algerian women's football.
The ongoing Olympic qualifying campaign involves 35 African national teams competing across five rounds, set to conclude by December 4, 2027. Ultimately, the two finalist teams from this arduous journey will earn the coveted berths designated for the CAF zone at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic women's football tournament, scheduled from July 11 to 29, 2028.
