Reconciliation Paves Way for Ait-Nouri’s Algeria Squad Return

Rayan Ait-Nouri is anticipated to rejoin the Algeria national football squad in November, according to reports from journalist Hafid Derradji. The expected return follows an agreement by the defender to apologize to the coaching staff. His re-inclusion would aim to restore one of Algeria’s talented players to the national team, whose quality is seen as beneficial.

Ait-Nouri was previously omitted from the national team following a disagreement with Brahim Hemdani’s staff. This dispute originated during Algeria’s 3-1 victory over Zambia on 25 September, when Ait-Nouri, after being sent to warm up, was not brought into the match. Images of his apparent frustration circulated on social media, leading to Hemdani’s decision the following day to remove the player from the squad. This resulted in Ait-Nouri missing subsequent matches against Burundi and Niger.

Efforts to resolve the situation appear to be nearing completion, with the dispute now reportedly close to resolution. A meeting is expected to occur between Federation algerienne de football (FAF) president Walid Sadi and Hemdani, which could facilitate Ait-Nouri's apology. The technical staff is reportedly prepared to accept this gesture, signaling a path towards reconciliation. While the situation has not yet been officially confirmed by the federation or manager, these developments suggest Ait-Nouri could be included in the national squad for the upcoming November international gathering.
