The International Committee for the Support of Palestinian Rights, “Heshed,” welcomed the recent UN General Assembly resolution demanding that Israel end its illegal occupation of Palestinian territories within a year. The organization called for collective global action to boycott Israel and impose sanctions on the occupying regime.

In a statement, “Heshed” emphasized the urgent need for countries, freedom-loving individuals, and international organizations to take both individual and collective measures to boycott Israel and enforce sanctions. These actions should include a ban on arms sales, prosecution of Israeli leaders in international courts, and efforts to dismantle illegal settlements and end apartheid. The aim is to secure justice, protect international law, and uphold the rights of Palestinians, including their right to self-determination, the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, and the return of refugees.

“Heshed” highlighted the importance of the UN General Assembly’s resolution, which condemns Israel’s crimes against Palestinians and its disregard for international law. The organization sees this decision as a crucial opportunity to address the historical injustice suffered by Palestinians and to respond to international demands to end their oppression.

The committee further stressed that implementing the resolution would restore trust in international law and the global order, which has failed over the years to stop the genocide against Palestinians and bring an end to the 76-year-long Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It called for increased international pressure and actions to ensure Israel complies with humanitarian law and UN resolutions.
