Bordj Bou Arreridj Postal Network Sees Modernization and ATM Growth

Algérie Poste has initiated a comprehensive rehabilitation and extension plan targeting its post offices in Bordj Bou Arreridj. This program aims to modernize existing structures and significantly expand the automated teller machine (ATM) network throughout the wilaya, addressing the current state of deterioration in several facilities. With 83 post offices, including two mobile units, spread across the territory, this effort seeks to improve the reception conditions for users and ensure the delivery of expected services, according to Karim Layadi, head of the postal service at the Directorate of Post and Telecommunications.

The modernization drive is a progressive renovation program, with a number of offices scheduled for refurbishment annually until all identified structures are fully rehabilitated. Beyond mere structural upgrades, the plan also includes equipping renovated facilities with modern technological equipment. Algérie Poste is also focused on extending its services to remote areas, evidenced by the recent opening of new offices in locations like the village of Aïn Noug in the Haraza commune. Furthermore, future plans include the development of a postal complex within the new urban hub of Boumergued, a satellite city for Bordj Bou Arreridj.

A significant component of this initiative is the remarkable expansion of the ATM network in Bordj Bou Arreridj, which now counts approximately fifty operational machines. This expansion provides substantial convenience for users, reducing the need to queue inside post offices for routine financial transactions. The latest addition to this network is an automated distributor recently installed in the populous 1008 Logements cité, located in the wilaya capital. This new ATM, complementing a post office established in the area in 2025, further enhances the availability of essential postal and financial services for local residents.
