On Saturday, October 19, 2024, Algeria’s Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Ali Aoun, issued directives to officials of the “Agrodiv” food industry group. The instructions emphasized the importance of meeting national market demands for essential goods and preventing shortages, particularly in products like semolina, flour, and cooking oil, according to a statement from the ministry.
During an inspection visit to the headquarters of Agrodiv in Algiers, the minister was welcomed by the group’s CEO, Ibrahim Lazrek, along with other directors and senior officials. This visit is part of a broader series of inspections conducted by Aoun across various industrial sectors.
The ministry’s statement highlighted that a detailed presentation was given on Agrodiv’s completed projects across Algeria, as well as its future initiatives. Minister Aoun praised the efforts of the workers and expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved so far.
In his discussions with the management and staff, Aoun reiterated the importance of achieving the set objectives to ensure the continuous supply of essential goods in the domestic market. He stressed the necessity of avoiding shortages in basic products such as semolina, flour, and oil, underscoring that these efforts align with the priorities set by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The minister also emphasized that he is closely monitoring developments across all subsidiaries of the Agrodiv group, urging employees to maintain their efforts. “Meeting the needs of the national market is one of the primary objectives outlined by the President,” Aoun stated.
At the conclusion of his visit, Minister Aoun honored several executives from the Agrodiv group, expressing gratitude for their dedication and contributions.
