Algiers – A delegation from Algeria’s Council of the Nation will attend the second assembly of the African Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference on October 26-27, 2024, in Accra, Ghana, to ratify the founding charter of the organization. This participation was confirmed in a statement issued by the Council of the Nation on Thursday.
The statement noted that, under the guidance of Council President Salah Goudjil, the Algerian delegation will represent the Council at this key event, which aims to formally establish the African Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference.
The delegation will include:
- Salem Ben Mubarak, Vice President of the Council of the Nation, representing President Goudjil.
- Bassem Abdo Belhadj and Youssef Reda Ben Hedia, members of the Council.
Establishing a New Parliamentary Platform for Africa
The meeting in Accra will focus on the ratification of the founding charter and the official launch of this parliamentary organization. It will also include the formation of the organization’s executive office and establishment of its governing structures.
The goal of this new forum is to provide a platform for cooperation and integration, fostering innovative solutions and proposals to advance development and address the challenges facing the African continent.
