Former Algerian international Rafik Saïfi has praised the extensive work being done by national team coach Vladimir Petković, emphasizing his forward-thinking approach to developing the Fennecs.
In a statement to the Algerian Football Federation’s website (FAF), Saïfi highlighted Petković’s focus on long-term objectives rather than immediate results. He revealed that he had discussions with the coach about various aspects of the national team’s strategy and performance.

“Discipline is of utmost importance for Petković,” Saïfi remarked. He noted the coach’s methodical search for an optimal lineup, stressing his fairness as a defining characteristic.
“When there’s fairness among players, the best ones will play. In football, fairness earns a coach the respect of the players,” Saïfi added, underlining the positive impact of Petković’s approach on team dynamics.

Saïfi joined the national team camp on Friday as part of his preparation for obtaining the AFC Pro Coaching License, a certification from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
