Algerian President Appoints Members of the New Government

Algiers – The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has issued a presidential decree appointing the members of the Algerian government. The announcement was made in a statement from the Presidency of the Republic on Monday.

The statement read: “By virtue of a presidential decree, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has appointed the following members of the government:”

  • Nadir Larbaoui: Prime Minister
  • Said Chengriha: Delegate Minister to the Minister of National Defense, Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army
  • Ahmed Attaf: State Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad, and African Affairs
  • Mohamed Arkab: State Minister, Minister of Energy, Mines, and Renewable Energies
  • Ibrahim Merad: Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Urban Development
  • Lotfi Bougmaâ: Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals (replacing Rachid Tabi, reassigned to other duties)
  • Laziz Faid: Minister of Finance
  • Eid Rabiqa: Minister of Mujahideen and Rights Holders
  • Yousef Belmehdi: Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments
  • Kamel Baddari: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research
  • Mohamed Seghir Saadawi: Minister of National Education
