Kamel Moula Outlines Algerian Industrial Priorities in Madrid
Kamel Moula, president of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA), outlined Algeria's industrial investment priorities at a forum in Madrid, aiming for deeper partnerships with Spain in sectors like renewable energy and automotive manufacturing.

Kamel Moula, president of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA), detailed Algeria's industrial investment priorities at the third Ibero-African Business Forum in Madrid. This initiative reflects Algeria's aim to foster more substantive industrial dimensions in its economic partnerships with European nations like Spain, with a focus on co-production, technology transfer, and integrating domestic companies into international value chains. This commitment underscores Algeria's efforts to diversify its economy and strengthen global industrial cooperation.
During the forum, Mr. Moula identified several key priority sectors for potential joint ventures and deeper industrial ties, including renewable energy, hydrogen, fertilisers, ammonia, and automotive manufacturing, along with industrial subcontracting. He advocated for a cooperation model that combines investment with skills development and public-private collaboration, designed to generate projects that yield higher value-added production and employment. The SoutH2 corridor was also highlighted as an example of the broader potential for integrating Algerian and European industrial and energy capabilities.
Algeria's attractiveness as an energy partner is attributed to its complementary industrial capacities, its geographical proximity to European markets, and its ambition to expand higher-value production. The Global Gateway initiative was recognized as a platform to connect African and European economic actors for tangible developmental and industrial impact. The CREA, through its participation, reaffirmed its intention to facilitate business contacts, identify joint investment opportunities, and deepen institutional dialogue with partner employers' organisations, including the Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations (CEOE), to establish a durable and mutually beneficial partnership.
