Knowledge Transforms into Capital for National Growth

Algerian universities are undergoing a profound strategic transformation, moving beyond their traditional academic roles to emerge as significant poles of wealth production and innovation. This ambitious vision aims to reconfigure the universities' position within the national economic system, enabling them to generate resources and finance a growing portion of their needs independently. This represents a fundamental shift in the philosophy of higher education, integrating investment as a third dimension alongside training and scientific research, as confirmed by Dr. Khaled Rawaski.

This transformative path is part of deep reforms initiated in the higher education sector since 2022, which have resulted in the establishment of approximately 460 subsidiary institutions across the nation's universities. Algeria 3 University stands out with a specific investment project targeting financial balance by 2029, where its economic branches and investments are projected to match the annual state support of approximately 11 billion dinars. Key to this transition are the university's economic subsidiaries, notably a financial investment company with a social capital of 88.8 million dinars for venture capital activities, and a specialized consulting, research, and development office.

The financial investment company is designed to participate in the social capital of promising startups and university subsidiaries, providing crucial funding and support during their growth phases. This model allows for the re-deployment of funds into new projects, creating a continuous cycle of financing and support. Complementing this, the consulting, research, and development office leverages an interactive platform of over 60 national and international experts, holding more than 13 exclusive agreements to offer specialized services and expertise to economic institutions. This comprehensive approach is set to connect university expertise with market needs, foster innovative projects, and contribute to national economic growth across various sectors, including industry and modern agriculture.
