Sifi Ghrieb Oversees Official Launch of Digital Platform for Tracking Prices and Availability of Consumer Goods Across Provinces

Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb on Thursday, November 5, 2026, chaired a joint ministerial meeting dedicated to the official launch of the new digital platform for daily monitoring of the prices and availability of essential consumer goods across all provinces of the country. The launch comes in implementation of the President's instructions on regulating the national market and safeguarding citizens' purchasing power.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, the meeting was attended by the relevant ministers and provincial governors (walis) via videoconference. Participants included the President of the National Chamber of Agriculture, the President of the General Union of Algerian Merchants and Craftsmen, representatives of the local professional agricultural sectors, farmers and local holdings of all sizes, as well as local representatives of cold storage owners. The platform forms part of a participatory approach that allows all stakeholders in the national market supply chains to take part in a transparent and organized framework, through a digital process that ensures rigorous traceability of goods and their availability, and monitoring of prices applied at all levels.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to providing ongoing support to genuine farmers and traders, listening to their concerns and addressing them effectively. He also reminded the governors to take all immediate legal and deterrent measures to counter any attempts to create artificial shortages, undermine the stability of market supplies, or manipulate prices.
