Ministry Opens Registration for 22nd National Quran Prize
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments has opened registrations for the 22nd edition of the Algeria Prize for Memorizing and Reciting the Holy Quran, targeting national talents and youth. This initiative aims to foster Quranic skills and discovery across international, national, and encouragement categories.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments has officially announced the commencement of registrations for the 22nd edition of the Algeria Prize for Memorizing and Reciting the Holy Quran. Scheduled to take place between November 1st and 15th, 2026, for the Hijri year 1448, this significant national event is exclusively managed through a dedicated electronic platform for Quranic competitions. The initiative underscores Algeria's commitment to fostering a deeper engagement with the Holy Quran, aiming to encourage its memorizers, enhance recitation and 'tajwid' skills, and identify emerging national Quranic talents, particularly among younger generations.
The prize structure encompasses three distinct branches designed to cater to a wide range of participants. These include an international competition focused on the memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran, a national competition that further integrates the interpretation of the Holy Book alongside memorization and recitation, and a special encouragement competition specifically for younger memorizers. This multi-tiered approach ensures comprehensive engagement across various age groups and levels of expertise.
Participation in these esteemed competitions is subject to specific criteria outlined by the Ministry. Entrants are required to have fully memorized the Holy Quran according to the Warsh narration from Imam Nafi' and demonstrate mastery of 'tajwid' rules. Age requirements vary by category: candidates for the international competition must be between 15 and 25 years old, while those for the national competition must be at least 25 years old. The encouragement branch is reserved for young memorizers not exceeding 15 years of age on the day of the competition. Additional conditions include not having previously secured a top-three position in the specified competition branches and not being nationally or internationally renowned reciters.
Prospective participants are invited to register by creating a new account or logging into their existing profiles on the national digital services portal, specifically through the designated electronic link. Following successful login, individuals can select the competition branch that aligns with their age group and complete the registration form within the stipulated deadlines. This structured process highlights the Ministry's dedication to promoting the memorization and masterful recitation of the Holy Quran, while also cultivating and celebrating Quranic talents and instilling a profound reverence for the Holy Book among Algeria's youth.
