ALGIERS — The 29th Algiers International Book Fair (SILA 2026) recorded a remarkable visitor turnout on Saturday at the SAFEX Exhibition Center, marking a dynamic third day driven by strong public engagement and rich cultural programming.
From early morning, thousands of visitors—including families, university students, and literature enthusiasts—flooded the exhibition halls to explore the latest national and international publications. Pavilions hosted by Algerian and foreign publishers experienced high activity, fueled by author book-signing sessions and direct exchanges between writers and readers.
The third day also highlighted intense activity at the Palestine Pavilion, the guest of honor for this edition, where attendees gathered to browse historical collections and participate in literary discussions focused on national resistance and memory. Concurrently, conference rooms operated at full capacity, hosting panels ranging from youth literature to cultural heritage preservation.
Organizers noted that the ongoing momentum solidifies SILA's position as one of the country's most unifying cultural events, reaffirming the central role of books in Algeria's intellectual landscape.
