Algiers, DZWatch – The Ministry of National Education has announced the suspension of classes across all educational levels in numerous provinces, effective Wednesday, January 28th, 2026, through Thursday, January 29th, 2026. This decision follows an urgent communication from the Ministry of Interior and Local Authorities regarding a severe weather alert.
The alert warns of strong winds, with gusts potentially reaching speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour. In light of these hazardous conditions, the Ministry of National Education has deemed it necessary to prioritize the safety of students and staff.
