Interior Minister Appoints New Governors, Prioritizes Development and Cleanliness

Interior Minister Saïd Sayoud recently oversaw the appointment of Rabah Mourad Yezza as the new delegated governor for the Bouzareah administrative district and Betin Nadir for the Baraki administrative district in Algiers. During the ceremony, Minister Sayoud commended the extensive efforts of the security services and the People's National Army in safeguarding Algeria's security and stability, as well as protecting its citizens and their assets. He underscored that the nation's stability forms the bedrock for continued development, modernization, and improvement of public services, acknowledging citizens' commitment to national unity and solidarity.

These appointments, made on the directive of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune as part of a partial movement within the ranks of governors and delegated governors, are intended to enhance the effectiveness of local administration. Minister Sayoud articulated that the goal is to bring governance closer to the populace and strengthen its capacity to navigate the significant urban transformations occurring, particularly in Algiers, which serves as the country's prominent face, political, economic, and administrative center. He urged the newly appointed officials to demonstrate initiative, strict follow-up, constant field presence, and attentiveness to citizen concerns, working in close coordination with the Wali of Algiers and local elected representatives.

For the Bouzareah administrative district, Minister Sayoud specifically emphasized the urgent need to improve the urban environment, optimize the management of public spaces, and reinforce various facilities and services. He called for cleanliness and environmental care to be given top priority, especially along main axes, official routes, and pathways leading to governmental institutions. The aim is for Bouzareah to set a benchmark for urban discipline and the quality of public services, necessitating daily field monitoring to identify and resolve deficiencies, and fostering coordination with local municipalities and entities.

Addressing the Baraki administrative district, Minister Sayoud highlighted its status as a vital urban hub within the capital, noting its numerous ongoing major projects. These include the extension of the Algiers metro line and associated transport infrastructure, road development initiatives aimed at decongesting traffic, and the construction of a multi-story car park financed by the wilaya's budget. He also mentioned significant cultural, recreational, and sports facilities, notably the planned Culture and Entertainment Palace and the existing Nelson Mandela Stadium. These endeavors are viewed as an integrated framework designed to reorganize the urban landscape, enhance mobility, connect neighborhoods, provide essential services, and ultimately boost the district's appeal and improve residents' daily lives.
