On Monday, December 30, 2024, Sofiane Chaib, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the National Community Abroad, received Noureddine Ben Brahem, President of the National Observatory for Civil Society. The meeting also included members of the observatory representing the Algerian diaspora, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs.
The statement emphasized that the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views and perspectives on the Algerian community abroad and explore ways to address their concerns. This aligns with the guidance and high priority given by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to Algerian citizens living abroad.
Discussions also focused on mechanisms to organize and unify the diaspora, turning it into a “proactive force for development” to enhance its effective participation in the country’s new dynamic of progress.
This meeting, the statement added, is part of a series of consultative discussions with various bodies and institutions, as well as ongoing coordination with all stakeholders, aiming to work together toward achieving shared objectives.
