Ministry of Finance: Coordination Meeting on Digitizing National Property and Tax Services

AlgiersMinister of Finance Laaziz Faïd, alongside High Commissioner for Digitalization Mariem Ben Maouloud, chaired a coordination meeting on Thursday in Algiers to review progress in the digital transformation of national property and tax services, as stated in a ministry communiqué.

The meeting, attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Finance and the High Commission, is part of efforts to accelerate the digital transformation and achieve comprehensive digitization goals. Minister Faïd opened the session by highlighting significant milestones already achieved in the financial sector’s digital transition, while acknowledging the need for sustained efforts to fully realize its objectives.

The minister emphasized that the meeting’s primary purpose was to “identify challenges hindering the process and propose practical solutions to overcome them.” He noted that the successful digitization of the financial sector would act as a driving force for digital transformation across other sectors, enabling a holistic national digital integration.

Key discussions included two main presentations:

  1. Integrated Information System for National Property
    • This system aims to centralize real estate data at the national level, enhancing transparency and administrative efficiency. It aligns with the Ministry of Finance’s strategic digitalization plan to establish a horizontal digital framework supporting the government’s vision for comprehensive digital transformation.
  2. Progress in Tax Administration Digitalization
    • Updates were provided on the implementation of digital systems such as “Jibayetek” (Your Taxes), “Moussahmatek” (Your Contribution), and the tax management system, along with future development plans.

The meeting underscored the importance of close collaboration among stakeholders to achieve shared digitalization objectives. It also stressed adherence to set timelines and an objective approach to identifying and resolving challenges effectively.

The statement concluded by reaffirming the Ministry of Finance and the High Commission’s commitment to accelerating digital transformation in line with the national plan for digital transition. These efforts aim to improve administrative efficiency, enhance transparency, and promote good governance.
