Algiers – Minister of Finance Laaziz Faïd and Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure Lakhdar Rekhroukh jointly chaired a coordination meeting in Algiers on Thursday. The meeting aimed to enhance consultation and coordination to support the implementation of investment projects in the public works sector.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Finance, the meeting brought together senior officials from both ministries to discuss mechanisms for financing public works investment projects. Particular attention was given to financial and budgetary challenges associated with implementing these programs.
In his remarks, Minister Faïd emphasized that the public works sector is a “key pillar in driving economic growth and achieving sustainable development.” He underscored the importance of establishing a practical cooperation framework to facilitate the execution of investment programs in this sector, thereby strengthening national infrastructure.
As part of efforts to enhance intersectoral coordination, Minister Faïd urged all entities within his ministry to effectively support the public works sector.
Both ministers reiterated their commitment to ongoing collaboration, tackling current challenges, and devising innovative solutions to bolster the sector’s resilience in the face of present and future obstacles.
This initiative, the statement added, is part of the government’s broader strategy to accelerate infrastructure investment and create favorable conditions for achieving sustainable economic and social development.
