Algiers – On Saturday, Algeria’s Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Mr. Seifi Ghrib, held a meeting with public and private economic operators active in the electrical and electronics industries. The meeting aimed to develop a joint roadmap to organize and advance these high-value-added industrial sectors, according to a statement from the ministry.
A Comprehensive Roadmap for Development
Minister Ghrib emphasized that this meeting was the first in a series of similar consultations, with plans to address each industrial sector individually. These sessions aim to identify the capacities, challenges, objectives, and actionable steps required to develop these sectors in the short and medium term.
“This initiative will lead to a clear and structured roadmap for advancing these industries,” Ghrib stated.
Cluster Organization and Public-Private Partnership
The minister underlined the importance of creating dedicated clusters for the electrical and electronics industries, bringing together manufacturers and economic operators. He proposed forming specialized working groups and fostering a win-win partnership between public and private sectors.
“Our goal is to mobilize national industrial efforts and realize the vision of our ministry,” Ghrib added.
Focus Areas for Industrial Growth
Minister Ghrib highlighted the five key classifications under the ministry’s oversight, which include:
- Inputs,
- Outputs,
- National expertise,
- Industrial waste, and
- The industrial technology infrastructure and the national reverse engineering network.
He emphasized the significant role that companies operating in the electrical and electronics industries can play in these domains.
Quality Standards and Export Opportunities
Another major point discussed was the importance of compliance with international standards and certifications. Ghrib stressed that aligning with these standards would not only improve the quality of locally produced goods but also facilitate their export to global markets.
Transparent Dialogue for Industrial Revival
According to the ministry’s statement, this meeting is part of a broader initiative to restructure and revive various industrial sectors under a new vision. It aims to enhance open and transparent dialogue between public and private actors to establish a shared framework for industrial growth and economic diversification.
